AACSB International (AACSB)announced the release of its Five Years of Societal Impact report, highlighting how business schools globally are driving meaningful change for communities, economies, and the environment.

Since AACSB’s 2020 accreditation standards update, societal impact has become a defining pillar of quality business education. The new report captures five years of progress since then, demonstrating how accredited schools are aligning to address some of society’s most pressing challenges.

“Societal impact is no longer a complementary outcome of business education; it is central to each school’s mission,” said Stephanie Bryant, executive vice president and chief accreditation officer. “This report showcases how our global network is transforming business education into a force for positive, measurable change.”

The report also emphasizes the importance of measurable outcomes and long-term commitment, encouraging schools to assess progress and continuously refine their strategies to maximize impact.

Methodology

The report is based on a multiyear analysis of more than 1,000 AACSB-accredited schools, incorporating accreditation data, institutional reporting, and selected case examples to illustrate impact in practice.
