Explore the evolution from the Business Accreditation Standards to the Global Standards; mission-driven excellence and continuous improvement; principles-based versus compliance-based approaches; understanding how the standards function as an integrated framework for business education quality. Activity: Standards Connections Exercise. Participants explore a sample institutional initiative and then reflect on a current initiative at their own institution to identify connections across the standards.
Explore how mission, strategy, resources, and faculty work together as an integrated system to support institutional quality and long-term success. Standard 1: Strategic Planning, mission and strategy alignment, societal impact priorities, strategic initiatives, and institutional agility. Standard 2: Physical, digital, and financial resources that enable mission achievement. Standard 3: Faculty and professional staff resources that support educational excellence. Activity: Mission-to-Standards Mapping. Participants review a sample institutional mission and then reflect on how their own mission influences institutional priorities and future conversations.
Explore how curriculum, learner success, and continuous improvement work together to support meaningful educational experiences and institutional quality.. Standard 4: Curriculum design and integration, future-ready competencies, and digital agility. Standard 5: Assurance of Learning as a process for reflection and continuous improvement. Standard 6: Learner progression, support, and success. Activity: Learner Success Reflection. Participants review a sample institutional scenario and identify learner success practices before reflecting on strengths and opportunities within their own institution.
Explore how teaching, scholarship, and societal engagement contribute to institutional impact. Standard 7: Teaching effectiveness and educational impact. Standard 8: Mission-aligned scholarship. Standard 9: Societal impact and community engagement. Activity: Impact Story Workshop. Participants review a sample institutional story and then reflect on examples of impact within their own institution that could strengthen conversations about mission and value.
Reflect on the day's learning and identify institutional strengths, opportunities, and priority areas for continued discussion. Activity: Global Standards Action Plan. Participants integrate insights from each course module to identify institutional strengths, opportunities for continued discussion, key stakeholders to engage, and practical next steps for supporting ongoing quality enhancement at their institution. Deliverable: Individual Institutional Action Plan.
