Keynote I: Igniting Action: Advancing Efforts on Impact Issues

Dorothee_Baumann-Pauly

Dorothée Baumann-Pauly, Director, Geneva Center for Business and Human Rights, University of Geneva

Dorothée Baumann-Pauly is a Professor at Geneva University's School of Economics and Management. She directs the Geneva Center for Business and Human Rights, the first human rights center at a business school in Europe. Since 2013, she is also Research Director at NYU Stern Center for Business and Human Rights.

 

David_Byrne

David S. Byrne, Director of Accreditation & QA, Trinity Business School, Trinity College Dublin

Before joining Trinity College Dublin, David worked in a variety of software development and leadership roles with Ericsson in Ireland, Sweden, the UK and the US. David joined Trinity Business School in 2015 as Accreditation and Rankings Manager and later took on the role of Director of Accreditation & Quality Assurance. Since 2015 Trinity Business School has achieved triple accreditation (AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA), entered the Financial Times Rankings, and secured the Athena Swan Bronze award. David is a member of the Trinity Business School Executive Committee which supports the Dean in the management and co-ordination of all School activities. He has presented at AACSB conferences, mentored accreditation managers/directors from other universities, and chaired a peer review at a European business school. David has a keen interest in sustainability and, as part of Trinity Business School’s Transforming Business for Good Strategy, he manages the School’s Carbon Emissions Reduction Project, in which the school has acted as a pilot school for the University.

Roze_Phillips

Roze Phillips, Founder and CEO, Abundance at Work, and Adjunct Faculty, Centre for Business Ethics, Gordon Institute of Business Science, University of Pretoria

Dr. Roze Phillips started Abundance At Work to unlock the potential of each person specifically solving for abundance, dignity and care at work. Roze is an African futurist, medical doctor, non-executive director of companies, educator, public speaker and radio talk show host. Roze serves on the Board of Directors of Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS), the business school of the University of Pretoria in South Africa and works as adjunct faculty with its Centre for Business Ethics focusing on spaces for dignity, social justice and the future of work. Previously Roze was Head of Management Consulting, Head of Innovation and Head of Consumer Goods and Services Industry Sector for Accenture in Africa as well as Group Executive: People and Culture for Absa, a major Pan African Bank (previously Barclays Africa). Roze has an MBChB, MBA and PGDip (Futures Studies). She completed her studies at the Universities of Cape Town, Stellenbosch, Copenhagen and Johns Hopkins.

Andrea Prencipe, Rector Magnificus at Luiss Guido Carli University

Andrea studied and taught innovation across Belgium, France, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, UK, US, and Vietnam. Widely published in top-tier academic and practitioner journals, Andrea has been an invited speaker at prestigious universities such as Harvard Business School (US), London Business School (UK), Oxford University (UK), Rotterdam School of Management (NL), and University of Michigan (US).

Amongst the youngest Italian Rectors, Andrea’s rectorship has revolved around three key dimensions: innovation, interdisciplinarity, and internationalisation. Andrea has introduced an innovative educational model grounded on enquiry-based learning as well as a stream of interdisciplinary, international programmes – including the Triple Bachelor’s in Business Administration offered by Luiss University, George Washington University (US), and Renmin University (PRC). Under his leadership, Luiss University has become the home of a core faculty from over 20 countries; offers 60 double degree programmes; reached the Top 100 world’s social sciences university (QS International Ranking), while its Master’s in Management has climbed to 53rd in the Financial Times Ranking and reached the world’s 1st as regards students’ career progression.
