Punit Renjen

Punit Renjen was named CEO of Deloitte Global in February 2015. He previously was chair of Deloitte. Renjen has held a number of leadership roles in his 28 years at Deloitte, including, most recently, chair and CEO of Deloitte Consulting LLP. During his tenure, the consulting practice experienced tremendous growth despite an ongoing recession, helping Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited (DTTL) become the largest global consulting provider. Along with his partners and directors, Renjen guided Deloitte Consulting LLP to be recognized as one of ""2010 Best Firms to Work For"" by Consulting magazine and as one of the top firms in Vault's Guide to the Top 50 Management and Strategy Consulting Firms.

After business school, Renjen took a job with Touche Ross, which merged with Deloitte Haskins & Sells in 1989, and he never left. Renjen’s rise from an analyst to the position of chair of Deloitte Global (which guides all 47-member firms, including Deloitte LLP) has been built on one core skill: mergers and acquisitions.

Throughout his career, Renjen has helped clients in various industries address a range of issues, including merger integration and operations improvement. His clients have included large multinational organizations spanning the energy, utilities, and telecommunications industries. Renjen is a member of the U.S.-India Business Council’s board of directors. He was named an honoree of the 2012 and 2013 National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) Directorship 100 as well as a Top 25 Consultant by Consulting magazine in 2007. Renjen speaks regularly with top-tier media as well as at premier conferences and business schools. He often comments on research regarding the attributes of exceptional organizations, including the importance of a well-articulated and lived workplace “culture of purpose,” as well as a high-functioning board.

Renjen was born and raised in India. He moved to the United States after winning a Rotary Foundation Scholarship to Willamette University, where he earned a degree in management. He now serves on the board of trustees of Willamette University.
