Report Finds Business Schools Globally Are Entering a New Era of AI Transformation
Inspire Higher Ed, in collaboration with AACSB International (AACSB), the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), and the Graduate Business Curriculum Roundtable (GBCR), announced the release of the July 2026 update to A Framework for Artificial Intelligence in Business Education: Exemplars and Critical Themes for Successful Integration, highlighting new ways that business schools are integrating artificial intelligence into teaching and learning, research, leadership, and institutional strategy.
With contributions from 74 AACSB-accredited business schools across multiple countries and continents, the updated report reflects how institutions are moving beyond AI experimentation toward sustainable, institutionwide transformation. Rather than asking whether AI belongs in business education, participating schools are increasingly focused on how to integrate it responsibly, ethically, and at scale.
Keeping within the original eight themes identified for effective AI integration, this latest snapshot can help other schools benchmark their own efforts against diverse initiatives, from Purdue University’s AI competency graduation requirement to NEOMA Business School's strategic AI partnership with Mistral AI and institution-wide AI training.
The report also provides a detailed snapshot of the institutions contributing to the research, including statistics on research intensity, school size, funding models, geographic representation, and accreditation.
Among the report’s key findings:
- Faculty development continues to emerge as the single most important factor for successful AI adoption.
- Schools are placing increasing emphasis on governance, responsible AI, and human-centered leadership alongside technical capability.
The publication builds on the ongoing collaboration among AACSB, Inspire Higher Ed, GMAC, and the Graduate Business Curriculum Roundtable to advance the future of business education through research, thought leadership, and shared best practices.
