An annual initiative, the Innovations That Inspire challenge recognizes institutions from around the world serving as champions of change in the business education landscape.
The theme for the 2020 challenge: Catalysts for Innovation, aligns with AACSB’s Collective Vision for Business Education
. Released in April 2016, the Collective Vision identifies five forward-looking opportunities for business schools to serve as key drivers of change. When implemented, the five opportunities help transcend the many cultural, political, economic, and financial contexts in which business schools serve.
Embarking on its fifth year, the challenge has highlighted business school efforts that align with the Collective Vision and exemplify forward-looking approaches and mindsets—specifically research and the co-creation of knowledge (2019) and leadership (2018). Insightful innovations featured in 2017 and 2016 provide further examples of outstanding engagement within business education.
“The future calls for business schools to capitalize on academic strengths in order to grow and develop the rich space between theory and practice in ways that positively impact society. To do so, schools will need to pursue operational models and strategies that firmly position themselves at the intersection of industry and practice, as conveners and partners in the knowledge creation ecosystem rather than just suppliers.”
