Andreas Altmann, Rector, MCI Management Center Innsbruck
Andreas Altmann studied Business Administration and Economics at the Universities of Linz/A and Innsbruck/A and International Relations at the Johns Hopkins University, SAIS Bologna/I. He received his doctoral degree in Business & Economics from the University of Innsbruck in 1993 and entered his academic career as a postdoctoral researcher first at the Department of Public Finance and later-on at the Department of Strategic Management at the University of Innsbruck. There he got involved in the idea of building up a new school from scratch now being known as MCI Management Center Innsbruck – The Entrepreneurial School® under the umbrella of the University, the Region, the City and the Chambers of Industry, Commerce and Labor. He became its first Executive Director and Rector and has successfully built up MCI as an internationally acknowledged academic institution with meanwhile more than 3,300 students, 1,000 full-time, adjunct and part-time faculty, 280 partner universities and numerous successful alumni from around the world. His research interest focuses on university management including the competitive environment and market behavior in the higher education sector as well as the development and management of regions.
Timothy S. Mescon, AACSB International
Timothy S. Mescon is executive vice president and chief officer for Europe, the Middle East and Africa for AACSB International. He is president emeritus of Columbus State University (Georgia) where he served from 2008-2014. Previously, he served as dean and Dinos Eminent Scholar Chair for 18 years at the Michael J. Coles College of Business at Kennesaw State University in Georgia. Mescon gained extensive experience as an AACSB peer review team member, chair, and committee member for 25 years before joining AACSB. He is the author of more than 200 articles and case studies, and he has co-authored four books, his latest "Entrepreneurship: Venture Initiation, Management and Development" 2nd edition (Routledge/M.E. Sharpe). Mescon received his PhD from the Terry College at The University of Georgia, MBA from the Cox School at Southern Methodist University and BA from Tulane University.
