With a long-term goal of funding education, health care, and entrepreneurship in Africa, Kodjo Adovor has begun the race toward that goal by founding an investment fund that focuses on infrastructure development and investments in Africa.

Kodjo Adovor epitomizes Yale School of Management’s (SOM) mission to educate leaders for business and society. With a strong finance background, a global perspective, and a desire to harness his knowledge of the asset management industry for doing good on the African continent, Adovor founded Kevi Capital, LLC.

Adovor, a native of Ghana, is currently CEO of Kevi Capital, focused on infrastructure development and investments in Africa. Kevi Capital focuses particularly on health care, education infrastructure development, and investments. “Health, education, and entrepreneurship are the best tools to spur individual empowerment, wealth creation, and sustainable economic development,” Adovor says. In addition to Kevi Capital, Adovor co-founded a nonprofit, Impact on Record, which is documenting the impact investing revolution in real time, producing podcast interviews with its current thought leaders.

Adovor’s launch of Kevi Captial will most certainly have a positive impact on an area that he feels passionate about. His ultimate professional goal is to have a fund that will invest in education, health care, and entrepreneurship in Africa and connect Africa to the African diaspora.

Adovor has also been an invaluable member of the Yale SOM community, with a solid foundation in finance, a truly global perspective, and a passion for transforming finance into a force for good. He led a student team in developing an entrepreneurial teaching case on student housing in Africa; Kevi Capital—Starting an Africa Infrastructure Fund, is now taught in a commercial real estate class.

In addition to Impact on Record, while a student at Yale SOM, Adovor co-created the inaugural Yale Impact Investing Conference. The conference, one of the largest and most successful student-run conferences in the school’s history, brought together leaders from all sectors of the impact investing space to reflect on the achievements of impact investing and to discuss the current opportunities and challenges that lie ahead. Poets and Quants also named him among the 2018 Best Executive Masters of Business Administration for his accomplishments and impact as a student.
