DeVore has had an entrepreneurial spirit since before arriving at UNC Charlotte. In high school, she worked at a local hospital, writing procedure manuals for nurses, and became interested in healthcare. Coming from a large family, she wanted to pursue her college education and pay her own way. By working through college, and with the support of a UNC Charlotte Bonnie E. Cone Scholarship, she was able to graduate and pay all of her expenses. DeVore went on to earn a Master of Management degree from McGill University.

DeVore joined Premier in 2003 and was promoted to CEO in 2009. With approximately 30 years of experience, DeVore is a thought leader and innovator who has been named to Modern Healthcare’s 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare and Top 25 Women in Healthcare lists. Uniting an alliance of approximately 3,400 U.S. hospitals and 110,000 other providers to transform healthcare, Premier enables better care and outcomes at a lower cost. Under Ms. DeVore’s leadership, Premier has been recognized for building an industry-leading code of ethics, has been named eight times as one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies by the Ethisphere Institute, won the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award for management, and has been named four times to the InformationWeek 500 list of the top technology innovators in the nation.

As part of her focus on mentoring and diversity, DeVore created a chief diversity officer position and established a diversity council. She serves as chairm of the board of trustees of the Healthcare Leadership Council, board member of the Coalition to Protect America’s Healthcare, and finance committee member and audit committee chair of the Medicare Rights Center. She also serves as a member of the Institute of Medicine’s Roundtable on Value & Science-Driven Healthcare, as an executive committee member of the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce, on the audit and finance committee for Adventist Health System, and is a member of the Midwest Healthcare Executive Summit.

DeVore has received numerous prestigious honors throughout the years for her leadership in business and healthcare, both locally in Charlotte, North Carolina, and nationally.
