The School of Business and Economics (SBE) is the economic and business administration faculty of VU Amsterdam. Our employees, scientists and students disseminate, acquire and retain fundamental knowledge in business administration and economics, so that we can respond effectively to the economic and social challenges facing our world. Now and in the future.

Our faculty consists of ambitious people who want to positively influence the world and the lives and well-being of others. We believe that collaboration, openness and social responsibility are the only way forward - for science, business and humanity. We encourage our students to become adults with a clear vision of their values and ideals, to become people who make a difference in the world, as scientists, professionals and citizens. The School of Business and Economics believes in science that serves a purpose.

The School of Business and Economics is now the second largest out of nine faculties, with 26% of the total university student population following a BSc, MSc or Graduate Level Certificate programme at SBE. The exact sciences faculty is the largest; the other faculties offer programmes in the fields of social sciences, humanities, law, theology, psychology, medicine and dentistry.
