Welcome to Konkuk Business School (KBS)! On behalf of the people at KBS, let me extend our cordial invitation by sharing who we are and what we value most.

The story of KBS dates back to a humble non-profit infirmary founded in 1931 by Dr. Seok-Chang Yoo (常虛) to provide affordable health care to the less fortunate. Within a few years, Dr. Yoo realized the importance of investing in human capital and turned his attention to nurturing future agricultural leaders. Despite the grim economic conditions of the 1930s, his ambition to create a top-class agricultural college was remarkable and ahead of its time. His dedication to raising sincere, trustworthy, and righteous leaders inspired strong support from benefactors, enabling him to secure land and financially support students for decades, even without major government aid.

At KBS, we believe it is essential to reflect Dr. Yoo’s legacy in modern education, research, and engagement with business communities. We aim to produce competent students, generate practical business knowledge, and instill global values so our graduates become ethical leaders impacting international communities. In this spirit, we view the AACSB accreditation process as a vital means of refining Dr. Yoo’s vision and strive to “stay always hungry,” as implied in his nickname, Sanghuh (常虛).
