The Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) is a prestigious institution that stands out among its peers. It is included in the “Double First-Class” category, an elite group of institutions that receive significant government support for their academic and research excellence. BIT is renowned for its strengths in the fields of science, engineering, and management. In 2024, as part of BIT’s development plan, the former School of Management and Economics (SME) and the School of Humanities and Social Sciences were restructured into the School of Management (SOM) and the School of Economics (SOE). Most business-related disciplines and programs are now administered by the new SOM. SOM is positioned to focus on Management Science and Engineering, Business Administration, and Public Management, The school is organized into eight specialized departments, covering a wide range of management-related disciplines. These departments include Management Science and Logistics, Management Engineering, Accounting, Organization and Human Resource Management, Technology Economics and Strategic Management, Marketing, Energy Technology and Industrial Management, and Public Management. Alongside these departments, the school also houses a Professional Degree Education Center, which is dedicated to offering specialized professional degree programs.It offers four undergraduate programs: Information Management and Information Systems, Business Administration, Accounting, and Xu Teli Talent Class in International Organizations and Global Governance. At the postgraduate level, there are three first-level doctoral programs in Management Science and Engineering, Business Administration, and Public Management, alongside three interdisciplinary master's and doctoral programs in Energy and Climate Economics, National Economic Mobilization, and Carbon-Neutral Technology and Management.
