The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is an independent, nongovernmental international organization that brings experts together to share knowledge and develop voluntary, consensus-based, and market-relevant international standards that support innovation and provide solutions to global challenges. ISO standards provide world-class specifications for products, services, and systems to ensure quality, safety, and efficiency. With more than 1.1 million certifications issued, in over 178 countries globally, ISO 9001:2015 is the most widely used quality management systems requirement offered by ISO. AACSB chose to pursue ISO 9001:2015 certification because of its focus on ongoing continuous process improvement and quality control and a strong, customer-focused orientation—key components of our own accreditation standards.
