Sherif Kamel

Sherif Kamel has demonstrated exemplary and sustained service to AACSB for more than 16 years, contributing as a dedicated volunteer and leader through numerous roles, including board service, committee memberships, peer review activities, and speaking engagements. His long-standing involvement reflects a deep commitment to advancing AACSB’s mission and strengthening its engagement with business schools around the world.

As a member of the AACSB Board of Directors, Kamel has made continuous and meaningful contributions to shaping the organization’s strategic direction, governance, and global priorities. During his tenure as board chair (2024–25), he provided steady and effective leadership during a period of organizational growth and increasing internationalization. He reinforced AACSB’s focus on quality, relevance, and positive societal impact while ensuring the organization remained responsive to the evolving needs of a diverse and expanding global membership.

Following his term as chair, Kamel played a pivotal role in leading AACSB’s governance remodeling project, guiding a complex effort to modernize the organization’s governance framework. Leveraging his relationships and credibility within the international academic community, he has connected AACSB leadership with deans and institutions across regions, helping to ensure that diverse perspectives inform AACSB initiatives, accreditation discussions, and long-term strategic planning. His efforts have strengthened AACSB’s role as a truly global voice for excellence and impact in business education.

Across his years of service, Kamel’s contributions have influenced multiple dimensions of AACSB’s global ecosystem. At the governance level, he has strengthened board and committee effectiveness and helped modernize decision-making processes to support a complex, international organization.
