Juan F. Beckmann is one of Mexico’s most respected business leaders, distinguished for his visionary leadership of the two-century-old Mexican family-owned company José Cuervo, the maker of the best-selling tequila in the world.

Beckmann serves as the chair at Casa Cuervo and JB and serves on the board of 28 family-owned companies. He also serves as a director of Industrias Peñoles, Consejo Coordinador Patronal, Confederación Patronal de la República Mexicana (COPARMEX), Consejo Mexicano de Comercio Exterior (COMCE), Consejo Mexicano de Hombres de Negocios, Instituto Mexicano para la Competitividad, Banamex Grupo Financiero, and has been a director of Grupo Aeromexico since 2007. He has also chaired the board of directors of Corporación Los Olivos and of Mexichem. He serves on the Mexico City board of advisors of Tecnológico de Monterrey.

His business legacy is marked by visionary leadership and a commitment to people, innovation, and global growth, and he is distinguished as a marketing innovator, having transformed José Cuervo—and particularly the brand Don Julio—into the world’s most acclaimed tequila.

The José Cuervo Foundation, which Juan Beckmann established in 1998, builds on the philanthropic traditions of Casa Cuervo and the Beckmann Family and is dedicated to three principal pillars for social impact: an integral model for local development with solid values based on educational, cultural, and ecological principles; community impact on distinct segments of the community (women, youth, and senior citizens); and a corporate sustainability focus and collaboration with global initiatives that improve people’s lives. Beckmann has been recognized throughout Mexico and internationally for his commitment to enhancing lives wherever Casa Cuervo operates, and he has received numerous honors and lifetime achievement awards across the globe.

Beckmann is a certified public accountant from Tecnológico de Monterrey and an holds an MBA degree from EGADE Business School at the same institution. The skills he gained throughout his education, as well as his vision for a better world, have placed Beckmann among the most effective business leaders of today.
