Delmonize Smith, Alabama A&M University, College of Business and Public Affairs
Delmonize “Del” Smith has extensive management and leadership experience in industries such as healthcare, IT, education, and government. He has served in numerous roles throughout his career, including systems analyst in the U.S. Army, consultant for Fortune 500 companies, scholar, and serial entrepreneur. Since 2015, Del has served as dean of the College of Business & Public Affairs at Alabama A&M University. In 2018, his role expanded to include that of Alabama A&M’s executive director for economic development. Del’s experience as a minority entrepreneur has fueled his interest into what it takes for minority-based entrepreneurial firms to reach high levels of success. His research has appeared in leading journals such as Human Relations, the Journal of Business Research, Management Decision, and the Journal of Developmental Entrepreneurship. In addition to his publications, Del frequently presents leadership workshops across the country. Del earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Faulkner University, Master of Science in Management from Troy University, and Ph.D. in Management from the University of Alabama.
Rama Yelkur, St. John Fisher College
Rama Yelkur is the dean of the School of Business at St. John Fisher College. Prior to that, she served in a variety of roles, including the Dean of the College of Business and Management at Saginaw Valley State University in Michigan, and Director of International Business Programs and Professor of Marketing at the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire and a Marketing faculty member at Texas A&M International University. She has extensive international experience and has been instrumental in establishing partnerships with Universities in Greece, Ireland, Netherlands, China and India. Yelkur has nearly three decades of consulting experience in sports marketing, advertising, and sponsorships, working with organizations such as Kimberly Clark, NBC Universal, and the NFL. She currently serves on the boards of the Rochester Area Business Ethics Foundation and the Junior Achievement of Upstate New York and is a member of the Finger Lakes Economic Development Council’s Entrepreneurship & Development Committee. She is the past chair of the Women Administrators in Management Education Affinity Group of AACSB – International and has organized programming to develop leadership among women and minorities. She is the Past President of the Marketing Management Association (MMA) and Past President of the Executive Board of the Midwest Business Administration Association (MBAA)-International. She also serves on the Induction Planning Committee for the National Women’s Hall of Fame. Rama is a Certified Global Business Professional and a graduate of the Management in Leadership Education program through the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She received her Doctorate in Business Administration from Mississippi State University with a specialization in Marketing, her MBA from PSG College of Technology in India, and her BSc. in Mathematics from Ethiraj College in India.
