Gayle Morris, Director of Teaching and Learning, The University of Auckland

Dr Gayle Morris is currently the University Director of Learning and Teaching, Office of the Vice Chancellor, at The University of Auckland, responsible for the professional learning of new and experienced teachers, and in leading institutional changes in teaching and learning. Gayle has over 25 years in higher education in Australia, Hong Kong and New Zealand. Previously she was Professor and Pro Vice Chancellor Learning and Teaching at Auckland University of Technology, and Associate Dean Learning and Teaching in the Faculty of Business and Law, Auckland University of Technology, and Director of Academic Programs with the Centre for Enhancement of Teaching and Learning at The University of Hong Kong. She brings a depth of expertise in adult learning, with a PhD in Adult Learning, a Masters of Education, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Adult Learning ,and a Diploma in Digital and Collaborative Learning. As a keen learner herself, she has completed the Stanford D School Design Thinking program, and Executive Leadership through the Graduate School of Business, also at Stanford University. She has wide sector knowledge through her role as Executive Member of the Council of Australasian Leaders of Learning and Teaching, and Australasian Business Deans Council, Teaching and Learning Network. Gayle is a passionate educator known for her engaging facilitation style and her ability to make learning enjoyable.
