Strategic Planning Seminar (Americas)

Take your strategic plan from a static document to a truly functional roadmap that ignites change to achieve your organization’s mission.
Date(s)
February 23 – 24, 2023
Location
Virtual

Each day 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time

Engage in workshop-style sessions in an interactive cohort of peer business school leaders on effective strategic planning. Learn in live sessions to explore examples and challenges related to strategic planning, from goal creation and measurement to micro-plans and agile planning methods.

Through interactive exercises, facilitators will relate your strategic plan to the AACSB standards and share relevant, timely examples that will support your planning journey. Learn how to gain university and college-wide support for your efforts, and how to turn your colleagues into change agents in support of stated goals.

Apply the principles of agile to continuously rally around performance metrics and focus on the biggest impacts you can make related to your mission. Define KPIs to measure success and learn how to report and visualize the data for stakeholders.

Then, enhance your plan and process with a micro-plan. A micro plan is a “plan-within-a-plan,” where a specific element of a larger plan is nuanced enough to require its own process. A micro-plan helps solve complex issues with a specific action plan and performance indicators that support the overall macro plan.

Your strategic plan is more than a shared document. It is an opportunity to unite your stakeholders to strengthen your school, university, and community.

Learning Objectives

  • Construct values, vision, mission and goal statements; develop a strategic management system
  • Review the role of strategic planning in AACSB Accreditation
  • Apply the agile methodology to strategic planning in a business school setting
  • Apply key desired outcomes of your strategic plan to measurable KPIs and data for regular reporting and visualization to stakeholders
  • Identify key areas where a micro plan would be effective for your school
  • Learn the methodology for creating a micro plan and understand how to extend the methodology to any number of areas of your school’s strategic plan or operations
