Tawnya Means, University of Illinois-Champaign
Dr. Tawnya Means is the Assistant Dean for Educational Innovation in the Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She leads a newly formed unit focused on the development and implementation of innovative ideas, technologies, and approaches across the College's educational portfolio. Prior to this role, Tawnya served in leadership roles in teaching and learning support and providing faculty development programs and resources for instructional innovation and adoption of pedagogical best practices. With 20+ years of experience in higher education, course design, and educational consulting, Tawnya has also taught courses in entrepreneurship, strategy, technology, and leadership in remote teams. Tawnya received her B.S. in Education, M.S. in Educational Technology, and Ph.D. in Information Science and Learning Technologies with an emphasis on learning systems design, all from the University of Missouri. She completed the AACSB Post-doctoral bridge program in Management and Entrepreneurship at the University of Florida. Her research interests are in online and blended learning, active learning, learning space design, technology for teaching, access to digital learning resources, generative AI for education, and faculty preparation to teach. She has long been a leader in campus initiatives and committees and actively presents at conferences and other institutions and organizations on technology-enhanced learning.
Anca Micu, Fairfield University
Anca Micu is the Senior Associate Dean and Professor of Marketing at the Dolan School of Business, Fairfield University. Prior, she was Associate Dean at the Jack Welch College of Business & Technology, Sacred Heart University. She lived and worked in Romania, Luxembourg and the USA. Anca received her BS in Finance from the Romanian Academy of Economic Studies and her MBA and PhD in marketing communication from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She is an advertising professor and scholar, former editor of the American Academy of Advertising newsletter. She has presented and published numerous research articles, including in the Journal of Advertising, Journal of Advertising Research, Journal of Marketing Communications, and Internet Research. She is the founder of the MS in Digital Marketing program at the Welch College. She has worked or consulted for a number of companies including BBDO, the ARF, Time Inc., and Estee Lauder. She speaks fluently Romanian, Hungarian and English and has basic proficiency in French, German and Spanish.
