This seminar will take place in Suite 100 at AACSB International in Tampa, Florida. The seminar begins at 8:30 a.m. June 12 and concludes at 4:00 p.m. June 13. 

Focus on each accreditation standard and the accreditation process in this engaging seminar. Examine methods to create an effective plan of action for your school and learn what is important and expected at each stage of the accreditation process through group interactions, breakout sessions, and expert facilitation.

Focusing on the 2020 AACSB Accreditation Standards, the seminar will provide you with the knowledge and resources to avoid common challenges in the accreditation process.

Learning Objectives

  • Discover the purpose and philosophy of accreditation and the AACSB guiding principles
  • Review the nine 2020 AACSB Standards in depth to understand how they build on each other and assure quality at the school
  • Learn the importance of quality and continuous improvement, supported by engagement, innovation and impact
  • Gain an understanding of the initial and continuous improvement review processes
  • Build a network of peers and have an opportunity to ask questions 

Facilitators

Frank Ghannadian, The University of Tampa

Dr. Frank Ghannadian is the Dean of the John H. Sykes College of Business and Professor of Finance at the University of Tampa. He became Dean in July of 2007 where he presently overseas 100 plus faculty and staff in six departments of the college with over 12 undergraduate majors, four MBA programs, six Master of Science Programs, and directs the TECO Energy Center for Leadership, which is one of the five outreach centers for the college. During his Deanship, the College has been reaffirmed three times with AACSB accreditation (the highest accreditation for business programs) and accredited by ABET twice for the MIS program. The College’s full time MBA was ranked in the top 100 of best Programs in the U.S. by Bloomberg/Business Week in the past three years. 
Prior to coming to the University of Tampa, Dr. Ghannadian was the Associate Dean and Chief Operating Officer in the Stetson School of Business and Economics of Mercer University in Georgia where he served for 19 years. During these years he also served as Interim Dean and was the founder of the school’s flagship Executive MBA Program. Dr. Ghannadian received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, an MBA from Queens College, and holds a Ph.D. from Georgia State University. He is also a recent graduate of Harvard’s prestigious Management and Leadership in Education Program. Dr. Ghannadian’s research has been published in over fifty academic outlets and Journals in the areas of business, leadership, international finance, and investments. Dr. Ghannadian has done extensive consulting for both the private sector and the public sector in his over 30 years of academic and business experience. He has consulted with telecommunications companies, public utilities, and assisted with management of local government funds, issuance of city bonds, and public projects in Georgia. He currently serves on several advisory boards in the Tampa Bay area and serves on the Initial Accreditation Committee.

Lauren Maradei, AACSB International

Lauren Maradei serves as accreditation manager at AACSB International, managing a portfolio of business schools throughout North America. Previously Lauren served a manager, membership for AACSB. Prior to joining AACSB Lauren held positions in higher education at The University of Tampa and the University of South Florida with focuses on outreach, engagement and project management. She holds an MS in Marketing from the University of Tampa.
