Luiz Brito holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (1976) and PhD in Business from Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV EAESP) (2005). He is a full professor of the Operations Department of FGV EAESP and became Dean of FGV EAESP in 2015. His research covers the intersection between strategic management and operations: value creation and appropriation in supply chains and operational capabilities and practices. He has been an active member of SMS, POMS (vice president for Latin America 2011/2013), AOM, and ANPAD. He is a member of the AACSB Board of Directors, previously served on the AACSB Innovation Committee, EQUIS Committee, EQUIS Accreditation Board, and Advisory Board of EFMD GN Americas. Prior to his academic activity, he had a long-standing involvement with the private sector, taking senior management positions at the Bunge group (Sanbra, Santista Alimentos) and Bemis Inc.(Dixie Toga).
