Nicole Thorne Jenkins

Nicole Jenkins, Dean, McIntire School of Commerce, University of Virginia-McIntire Nicole Thorne Jenkins is the John A. Griffin Dean of the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia (UVA) in Charlottesville. Prior to joining UVA, she served as the Von Allmen Endowed Chair of Accountancy and vice dean in the Gatton College of Business and Economics at the University of Kentucky. She was an assistant and associate professor at Washington University in St. Louis and at Vanderbilt. 

An expert in financial reporting, corporate reporting failures, and share repurchases, Jenkins is also an award-winning instructor, an expert witness, and a former president of the Financial Accounting and Reporting Section of the American Accounting Association. She currently serves as a trustee/board member for TIAA/CREF, the Strada Education Foundation, the Tippie School of Business at the University of Iowa, and the Montpelier Foundation.

Jenkins received her doctorate from the University of Iowa, a certificate in leadership from Stanford University, and BS degrees in accounting and finance from Drexel University. Prior to joining the academy, Jenkins, a certified public accountant, was an auditor and consultant at PriceWaterhouse.
