Temple University’s business accreditation was extended based on thorough inquiry and follow-up by AACSB of the rankings falsification issue that surfaced in 2018. Over a period of 18 months, AACSB conducted two special visits, overseen by the chief accreditation officer and a current and former board member, and a comprehensive peer review visit.

These visits in totality encompassed meetings across the campus, with the president and provost, faculty, students, administration, and others. Some 45 people were met with on the two special visits, and extensive work was conducted by the special visit team to understand the issues and corrective actions that had been taken by Temple.

Temple has since settled the majority of outstanding legal claims and has taken significant and meaningful actions to implement quality control measures over data integrity going forward. The peer review process thus yielded an extension of accreditation recommendation that was ratified by the full board of directors. Temple is required to maintain communications with AACSB with respect to any other related legal inquiries that may arise.
