Plenary I: Vision 2030: Business School of the Future

Lars_StrannegeardLars Strannegård, Stockholm School of Economics

Lars Strannegård is President of the Stockholm School of Economics in Sweden. He is Professor of Management Studies and holder of the Bo Rydin and SCA Chair in Business Administration, Leadership. His research interests focus on aspects of leadership, aesthetics, branding and organizing. Dr. Strannegård has carried out research on organizing and management practice in multinational organizations. His work has been published in journals like Organization, Journal of Organization Change Management, European Journal of Marketing, Leadership, Annals of Tourism Research and Marketing Theory. He is a board member of several academic, cultural and educational organizations. He has been a visiting scholar at Stanford University and professor at Uppsala University.

Nick is an internationally recognized thought leader, advisor, researcher, best-selling author, and facilitator on Corporate Learning & Leadership Development. He is inspired by insights from positive- and development psychology, the neurosciences and philosophy. He has over 30 years of business experience as a former Partner, Global Chief Learning Officer, HR-Executive, and Client Advisor at McKinsey & Co. as well as at Deloitte. Nick is Chief of the Center for Corporate Learning Innovation at IE University (Spain), serves on the University Board, is member of the IE Center for Health, Wellbeing and Happiness and is a Full Professor at IE University, Nyenrode and the University of Pennsylvania, where he works with candidates in the executive doctoral program for Chief Learning Officer.  He is affiliated with McKinsey & Company as an External Senior Advisor. During his career, Nick has written articles for various publications and has been quoted by The Financial Times, Wall Street Journal, Fortune Magazine, Harvard Business Review, Business Week, India Times, Information Week, Management Consulting, Chief Learning Officer Magazine, and TD Magazine. Nick is a best-selling (co-)author of more than 25 books and numerous articles on learning and leadership development including ‘Advancing Authentic Confidence Through Emotional Agility’ (2019), ‘Handbook Organization & Management’ (2019), ‘Elevating Learning & Development’ (2018), ‘Leadership at Scale’ (2018), ‘Handbook Learning and Development in Organizations’ (2018 – in Dutch), ‘You! The Positive Force in Change’ (2015) and ‘Next Learning Unwrapped’ (2012). Several of his books have been translated in Mandarin, Portuguese and Dutch. He is the founder of the e-Learning for Kids Foundation, which has provided free digital lessons for more than 20 million underprivileged elementary school children.
