Kalok Chan, Dean, CUHK Business School, The Chinese University of Hong Kong
Kalok Chan is appointed Acting Dean of the HKUST Business School in September 2013. He is currently Synergis-Geoffrey YEH Chair Professor of Finance and Director of Value Partners Center for Investing. Dean Chan has served as the Head of Finance Department and Associate Dean at the HKUST Business School, and was the founding director of the HKUST-NYU Stern Joint Master in Global Finance program. His research interests focus on dynamics of asset prices, derivatives, market micro-structure, and international financial markets. Dean Chan obtained his PH.D in Finance from the Ohio State University.
Steve Kwok, Executive Vice President and Director, CITIC Pacific, Ltd.
Mr. Steve Kwok is the Executive Vice President and Director of CITIC Pacific Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary and the overseas investment platform of CITIC Limited, which is the largest conglomerate in China. Steve has over 25 years of wealthy experience and proven track records in leading large-scale projects including corporate mergers and acquisitions, listing, investment evaluation, business negotiation and strategies setting. Apart from being the person-in-charge of the business development and human resources and administration departments of CITIC Pacific, Steve oversees various business units and holds directorships of certain member companies of CITIC Pacific Limited including property development, special steel manufacturing, energy production, and infrastructure businesses in different countries. Steve is also a non-executive director of Dah Chong Hong Holdings Limited, VPower Group International Holdings Limited and a director of Daye Special Steel Co. Ltd. is a Chartered Financial Analyst and he holds an EMBA and a BBA from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Rizwan Masood, Managing Director and Head of Human Resources, Retail Banking and Wealth Management, GCNA & Hong Kong, Standard Chartered Bank
Rizwan is an experienced business professional with over 20 years of experience in HR and Finance. He is a seasoned leader with having spent over 14 years in financial institutions, providing core HR business partnership. HIs experience with Standard Chartered Bank spans across multiple geographies including Greater China North Asia, Singapore & Pakistan with various key roles as Global Head HR for SME business, Head People & Organization for the Financial Crime Risk Mitigation Programme. In his current role, he is responsible for driving the People Agenda for Retail Banking, Wealth Management, Brand & Marketing and Corporate Affairs, across the Greater China North Asia and Hong Kong as well as helping the business achieves its strategic priorities across the country & region.
Plenary II: Beyond Accreditation
Trisha Barbour, Accreditation Manager, The University of Queensland, UQ Business School
Trisha Barbour has worked as a professional staff member in tertiary education in Australia for 20 years. For most of that time Trisha has been the accreditation manager for the UQ Business School, responsible for both international and professional accreditations and managing the overall planning and business intelligence for the School.
Stephanie Mattox Bryant, Executive Vice President and Chief Accreditation Officer, AACSB International
Dr. Stephanie M. Bryant is the Executive Vice President and Chief Accreditation Officer of AACSB International. She served as Dean of the College of Business at Missouri State University for 6-1/2 years and was previously the Director of the University of South Florida School of Accountancy. She received her Ph.D. and B.S. in Accounting from Louisiana State University and is a Louisiana CPA (inactive). Dr. Bryant specializes in accounting information systems, and previously worked for KPMG Peat Marwick. Dr. Bryant has co-authored two accounting textbooks, and over 30 academic articles and has won nine teaching awards. She served as the 2005-2006 national President of the American Accounting Association Information Systems Section. She also served as the 2006-2009 International President of Beta Alpha Psi.
Toshitsugu Otake, Dean, Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University
OTAKE Toshitsugu completed his PhD in Industrial Engineering in 1998 after acquiring three masters in Economics, Mathematics, and Statistics. He was Associate Dean in charge of the University's AACSB accreditation efforts for five years, and has served as Dean of the College of International Management and Dean of the Graduate School of Management since 2015. Prior to his appointment at APU, he worked for GE Capital as researcher and risk technology manager, and also as the CEO of his own consulting firm for financial risk management.
