Overcoming Social Inequity Webinar
The registration confirmation email will contain a link to the AACSB Exchange where this webinar recording can be viewed.
For many students, business schools are seen as accelerators for economic mobility. However, students from an underrepresented minority (URM) or first-generation (1G) background confront significant additional challenges beyond graduating in order to secure a promising professional career.
CSUF’s Social Capital Academy offers a practical, tested, cost-effective approach to supporting URM and 1G students, simultaneously positioning a business school for greater social impact and positive accreditation reviews.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this webinar, participants will:
- Explore how Social Capital Academy (SCA) can simultaneously address three key AACSB accreditation goals: social impact, diversity, and continuing student success
- Examine how the SCA can serve as a vehicle for meaningful alumni outreach and attract partnerships with major corporations
- Better understand the challenges confronted by URM and 1G students that influence their in-school performance, graduation, and most importantly, access to career-related jobs
- Meet and learn from SCA-impacted URM and 1G students and professional mentors who have participated in the program
