Gregory J. Whitwell

Greg Whitwell is dean of the University of Sydney Business School (USBS), a position he has occupied since 2014. Before his appointment as dean, Whitwell was senior deputy dean at the school, where he led UNSW’s initial AACSB accreditation. Prior to his arrival at UNSW, Whitwell was deputy dean and director in the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Melbourne and chair of the academic senate at U21 Global.
Whitwell has published extensively on the topic of marketing in top academic journals and has taught marketing and strategy subjects at all levels, from undergraduate to executive education. He has won numerous teaching awards and received the Executive Teaching Award at the University of Melbourne. He earned a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Monash and PhD from the University of Melbourne.
In addition to serving on the AACSB board of directors, Whitwell is a member of AACSB’s Continuous Improvement Review Committee and Innovation Committee. He is also an inaugural member of the Asia Pacific Advisory Council of the Association of MBAs and Business Graduates Association (AMBA & BGA).
