Case Western Reserve University
One of the primary objectives at the Fowler Center for Sustainable Value at the Weatherhead School of Management is to push business beyond just being "less bad" or compliant, and instead changing the direction and way business is carried out, explains Beau Daane, Fowler Center Manager. In addition, the Center "leverages interdisciplinary scholarship and practice to help leaders capitalize on new profitable business opportunities to solve the world's growing social and environmental problems," and focuses its activities in both scholarship and outreach.

Most modern business schools have gradually awakened to the idea that
teaching ethical concepts and sustainable perspectives on business is important
for the education of future managers and business leaders. However, as the INCAE
Business School demonstrates, it’s one thing for a school to work to
incorporate such ideas into existing courses and programs, and another to be
quite literally founded on those principles.

George Washington University is a central contributor to the efforts of the
George Washington School of Business to achieve preeminence in the fields of

Northern Illinois University, College of

In 2004, Northern Illinois University’s College of Business identified the need
for faculty to have open and honest discussions primarily with its undergraduate
students in regards to ethics. Subsequently, the school charged an Ethics Task
Force with the mission to integrate ethics college-wide, ensuring that the next
generation of managers have a solid ethical foundation. The task force responded
with the creation of the Building Ethical Leaders Using Integrated Ethics
Framework (BELIEF) Program. Centre for Social Impact,

The Centre for Social Impact (CSI) is a collaborative partnership between four
of Australia’s top business schools: Melbourne Business School, Swinburne
University of Technology’s Faculty of Business and Enterprise, the Australian
School of Business at the University of New South Wales, and the University of
Western Australia Business School. CSI is devoted to creating beneficial social
impact in Australia through teaching, research, measurement and the promotion of
public debate.

the Doughty Centre for Corporate Responsibility, devoted to creating and

The mission of Duquesne University’s Beard Center for Leadership in Ethics is to

Stanford University, Graduate School of Business, Stanford, California, USA
Stanford University Graduate School of Business takes a multi-layered approach
to business ethics. It includes ethics in their core curriculum primarily
through two required courses. Students are required to take a course, which has
three principal objectives: to consider an important set of ethics systems;
increase the precision with which students think about, discuss, and practice
ethics; and provide opportunities to apply ethics systems to business problems.
Kansas State University, College of Business Administration, Manhattan, Kansas, USA
Kansas State University has a long-standing tradition of requiring ethics
courses of its business students, embedding ethics coursework in its curriculum.
Part of that commitment stems from a core of four tenured/tenure-track
professors teaching ethics in addition to qualified adjuncts. Undergraduates
take a required course called "Business, Government, and Society." The required
course for MBAs is "Legal and Social Issues in Business," with an additional
elective course called 'Professional Ethics."
