Academy of International Business
A prominent association of scholars in the field of international business.


Academy of Management (AOM)
AOM’s mission is to enhance the profession of management by advancing the scholarship of management and enriching the professional development of its members. At every AOM meeting, several divisions offer doctoral consortiums for students. Check their conference page for details.


Accounting Doctoral Scholars Program
Created by the CPA profession to help reverse a shortage of PhD accounting faculty in U.S. colleges and universities. The program offers an annual stipend for new doctoral candidates in audit and tax.


American Accounting Association (AAA)
The association provides valuable research and practice for accounting education.


Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS)
BGS is an international honor society serving business programs accredited by AACSB International. An organization dedicated to promoting and facilitating cooperation among European doctoral programs in management and business administration through the facilitation of information exchange and research.

Promotes research programs and doctoral training on knowledge and management.


Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC)®
The council’s GMAT exam is one of the most common gatekeepers to graduate programs in business, including doctoral programs.


Re-Envisioning the PhD
Originally established to foster local and national/international discussions and initiatives that address the question of how the PhD can be re-envisioned to meet the societal needs of the 21st century, the project ended in 2003. However, the University of Washington Graduate School continues to maintain the site.


The PhD Project
Works to increase the diversity of business school faculty by providing a resource clearinghouse of doctoral program information and a network of peer support to under-represented populations.
