The mission of the Center for Business Ethics is to foster the
creation of organizational cultures that align effective business performance
with ethical business conduct. It endeavors to do so by the application of
expertise, research, education and a collaborative approach to disseminating
best practices. The Center for Business Ethics strives to connect ethical
thought and action, inspire ethical leadership, enrich ethical knowledge, and
promote ethical collaboration. The center is most noted for its service to
companies in developing the Ethics Officer’s Association in 1991.

Center for the Study of Ethics
in the Professions, Illinois Institute of Technology
The Center for the Study of
Ethics in the Professions (CSEP) was established in 1976 to promote research and
teaching on practical moral problems in professions. It was the first
interdisciplinary center for ethics to focus on the professions and it continues
to be one of the nation's leading centers for practical and professional ethics.
It is known for its work on ethics in engineering and science and in related
areas of business. This center has
a collection of codes of ethics and statements.
Markkula Center for Applied
Ethics, Santa Clara University
The Markkula Center for Applied
Ethics at Santa Clara University is a nationally recognized resource for people
and organizations wanting to study ethics. The center supports research, assists faculty in
integrating ethics into their courses, and helps businesses, schools, hospitals,
and other organizations put ethics to work. The center includes many business ethics articles links, site links and cases.

Institute for Business and
Professional Ethics, DePaul University
The Institute for Business and Professional Ethics (IBPE) was created by the College of Liberal Arts
& Sciences and College of Commerce at DePaul University. The mission of the
institute is to encourage ethical deliberation in decision-makers by stirring
the moral conscience and imagination. The center provides a forum for exploring ethical practices in organizations, ethics-related programs, and
resources.
E-business Ethics Center,
Colorado State University
The e-business ethics center at
Colorado State University is an excellent source of information on business
ethics, corporate citizenship and organizational compliance. The goal of the
center is to create a virtual community of organizations and individuals
interested in sharing best practices in business ethics. Much of the content is
provided by businesses, nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and
academics. Visitors
from academic and business communities will find research, publications,
resources, Power Point slides, links, and training exercises.

Georgetown Business Ethics
Institute, Georgetown University
The Georgetown Business Ethics
Institute was established to foster the creation and dissemination of
significant conceptual, empirical and applied knowledge in business ethics. The
research results of its members and associates are disseminated
nationally and internationally. The practical implications, methods, and
techniques that derive from these research results are used to advance the
ethical understanding and activities of students and managers at the local,
national and international levels. Business Ethics Quarterly is published
by this institute.
Corporate Governance Initiative,
Harvard Business School
The Corporate Governance
Initiative at the Harvard Business School is a long-term, multidisciplinary
research program dedicated to innovative thinking on corporate governance. The
initiative aims to serve business leaders, policymakers and scholars.
Participating faculty are drawn from across the school’s teaching units, and
represent a wide range of perspectives and approaches to studying corporate
governance. The initiative was launched in 1997 to enhance the understanding of
how corporate governance systems function in the United States and in other
countries around the world.

ETHICSclassroom was developed
through Kansas State University as an interactive forum for business and
government professionals interested in reviewing current issues involving
values, morals, and ethics in American society. It seeks to help working
professionals to improve the ethical climate of their organization. College
students anywhere studying ethics are encouraged to use the university resources
found in the university classroom section. The professional classroom section
provides resources for business and government professionals.

Center for Business Ethics Research was established in 1997 to sponsor and
disseminate leading edge research on critical topics in business ethics. The
center focuses on global business ethics, corporate governance, social
contracts, deception, disclosure, bribery, and corruption. The center serves as a focal point for the interaction of business,
professional, and academic leaders concerning responsibility in business. The
center sponsors research projects, conducts workshops, convenes academic
conferences, and makes available working papers and article reprints relating to
the center's sponsored research.
