The group originally was established
as the Association of Directors of Doctoral Programs in Business (ADDPB)
sometime before 1990. It is believed it was created in conjunction with GMAC in
order to facilitate business doctoral program sessions at the GMAC Annual
Industry Conference.
The group changed its name to DocNet
in June 2001 during the GMAC Conference.
