PhD Project Receives National Award
The PhD Project, a program that creates more incentives for young minorities to enter
business programs, recently was named the 1998 "Outstanding Educational Institution
of the Year" by the National Black MBA Association (NBMBAA).
The award recognizes the institution that has made the greatest contribution toward
encouraging African-Americans to enter the field of business.
Bernie Milano, executive director of the project, as well as partner in charge of
university relations, diversity and alumni programs for KPMG, accepted the award at
NBMBAA's Annual Meeting in Detroit. AACSB is a long-time sponsor of the program. Other
co-sponsors include some of the most prominent corporations, academic organizations and
U.S. universities.
