Trends in Master's Level Enrollment at Asia Pacific Schools
One area that receives consistent inquiries from both our member schools and the media, is the question of changing enrollments. As discussed in this edition, results from the AACSB Business School Questionnaire show the change of enrollment numbers at the master's level from the Asia Pacific region.

Of all the standards, those concerned with Assurance of Learning (AoL) often raise the most difficult set of issues, both conceptually and in terms of implementation. Such challenges were particularly noticeable for the Faculty of Business at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in light of the institution's large portfolio of programs. The following article identifies a number of factors which have helped Hong Kong PolyU, and draws a number of lessons that might serve beneficial for other schools to consider.

Academic Partnerships: Trends and Tips for Establishing Effective Collaborations
As business schools seek to expand research opportunities and program offerings, finding a compatible and knowledgeable partner is critical. Because of the need for quality collaborations, AACSB Accreditation has become a primary driving factor in choosing a partner school. According to 2009–10 Collaborations Survey data, there are 3,950 unique collaborations between AACSB member institutions.

A Message of Solidarity and Support for Our Colleagues in the Asia-Pacific
Thus far, 2011 has been a time of difficulty for our friends and colleagues throughout the Asia-Pacific region. The safety and well-being of our membership, and their friends, family, and communities is of the utmost concern for AACSB International. We send our most heartfelt condolences to those who have directly endured such hardship, as well as to those who have loved ones in the affected regions.
Research Finds AACSB Accreditation Beneficial for Business
Schools in Asia
In a global research initiative by AACSB International and Clarion Research, final results have found that the process and long-term effects of AACSB Accreditation are positive for business programs, faculty/support staff, students, and employers. Deans from Asian institutions reported positive impacts with regard to mission, vision, strategy, international partnerships and students, the external image of the business school, the ability to compete with other schools, and the corresponding outcomes for students.
B-Schools Go to Court with Governing Body AICTE Over New
Guidelines
The phrase "think globally, act locally" has taken on a new meaning for Indian business schools. On December 28, the national apex body that approves management programs in India, the All Indian Council for Technical Education (AICTE), issued a set of eight guidelines, which increase the role of state authorities in the operations of all approved business schools offering Post Graduate Diplomas in Management (PGDM) in India.
