2007-2008 Salary Survey Data is Available
These data now are available for use with our benchmarking tools as part of a DataDirect subscription. As an additional feature this year, we have added the ability to create quick reports using comparison groups incorporating schools that have reported in multiple currencies. In multiple currency comparison groups, all currencies are automatically converted to United States dollars for simple comparison. All currency conversion is available only in the Quick Reports section. Currency conversion is only available in the items under Quick Reports. For comparison groups where all schools reported in the same currency, you now also have the option to disable currency conversion to view the reports in that currency.

If you have not yet subscribed and would like access to this data, please visit http://www.aacsb.edu/datadirect for more information on how to subscribe. If you have any questions, please contact jessica@aacsb.edu or joe@aacsb.edu for more information.

Canadian Executives Unaware of Gender Gap in Business Schools
According to a recent survey Queen's School of Business, 8 of 10 executives estimate the percentage of females in Canadian MBA programs to be higher than actual percentage. When executives were informed of the actual percentage, which is about 25 percent, three quarters (74 percent) describe the imbalance as a "very significant" or "somewhat significant" problem for Canada. Class of ’08 Faces Scramble for Jobs
“According to a survey conducted last fall by the National Association of Colleges and Employers, a Bethlehem, Pa., nonprofit, large employers initially expected to boost hiring of new graduates 16 percent, on average, this year from last year's levels. After redoing the survey in February, NACE found employers planned a more modest 8 percent increase overall. Within financial services, hiring is now anticipated to fall 7.5 percent this year, as investment banks announce sweeping cutbacks.”

Strategy and Management – Diversity – Why Boards Don’t Get Women
“When Cranfield Business School launched its International Centre for Women Business Leaders in 1999, more than a third of FTSE 100 companies did not have a single woman on their boards. That proportion has steadily fallen, dipping below one-quarter last year, according to the centre’s statistics.

In a report coinciding with the 100th International Women’s Day on 8 March, the centre revealed that the number of female FTSE 100 directors almost doubled from just 5.6 per cent in 2000 to 11 per cent in 2006.

But while the statistics are moving in the right direction, one seasoned observer claims that the corporate approach to gender needs a thorough rethink.”
