World Class Practices in Management Education Conference
June 1–13, 2008
IAE – Business School, Austral University
Buenos Aires, Argentina

Sessions Announced for World-Class Practices in Management Education Conference

Hosted by IAE–Business School, Austral University in Buenos Aires, this summer’s World-Class Practices in Management Education Conference connects best practices used by the world’s top business schools to region-specific issues and interests.

This year’s plenary sessions explore a range of important topics, many related to the unique challenges business educators face in Latin America.

The opening plenary, Regional Economic and Social Perspectives, is led Juan Llach— respected economist, former Minister of Education for Argentina and senior faculty member at IAE. He will explore situational factors unique to Latin America and perspectives for the future, as well as their impact on management education. Additional plenary sessions include Strategic Leadership in Business Schools, from Fernando Fragueiro (Dean, IAE–Business School, Austral University), and Claudio Hadad (President, Ibmec São Paolo); Accreditation and Thought Leadership Initiatives, and Impacts in Latin America, led by John Fernandes and Jerry Trapnell; and The Linkage Between Business and Academia, led by a panel of deans from the region.

In addition to the plenary speakers, the conference will feature concurrent sessions on developing MBA programs, addressing Latin America’s PhD shortage, building quality faculties, and creating financial strategies that address resource constraints.

AACSB also will host an informal breakfast Q & A and networking session on accreditation.
