Babson Appoints Former American Express Executive as Dean of Executive Education
Elaine J. Eisenman,
a former senior vice president at American Express, is the new dean of executive
education at Babson College. An experienced business leader and general manager,
Eisenman will head a Babson program that is considered one of the best in
executive education.
The
holder of a PhD in industrial/organizational psychology from New York
University, and a master’s degree from Columbia University, Eisenman brings to
Babson a wide range of experience on executive issues, including executive
selection, transition and succession, compensation, and performance.
“Elaine
understands both sides of the executive education value equation and . . . she
is ready to lead the team to new levels of accomplishment,” said President Brian
M. Barefoot, college president.
At
American Express, Eisenman managed all global human resources activities,
including staffing, executive and management development, performance

serving as general manager at PDI International, she oversaw the management
consulting firm’s most profitable operating region.
Eisenman is co-author of the book―I Didin’t See It Coming: How to Get to the
Top Without Being Blind-sided―to be published in 2006 by Harvard Business
School Press.
