BizEd Submission Guidelines
As
a forum for the international business school community, BizEd welcomes submissions that discuss the topics most
important to our readership of business school deans and faculty.
We encourage submissions that explore the compelling and often
controversial issues that most deeply affect the present—and future—of management education.
Guidelines
for Feature Articles:
Submissions should be between 1,500 and 3,000 words in length. BizEd
is a journalistic—not academic—publication. Therefore, we prefer articles
written in an informational, descriptive, and/or personal tone, rather than
academic papers. We look for in-depth feature articles that address their topics
descriptively and provokingly, and that tap into the expertise, intellect, and
experience of the authors. Topics should be of crucial interest to our
readers in areas such as curriculum development, learning outcomes, effective
teaching, fund raising, technology, globalization, and emerging trends in the
field.
Guidelines for “Your Turn”
Essays:
For “Your Turn,” BizEd’s
op-ed department, we accept submissions of approximately 800 or
1,500 words (for a one-page or two-page format).
If a submission is chosen for publication, a picture of the author is
also required. “Your Turn” essays should explore a personal viewpoint and
argument regarding an issue important to management education.
Guidelines for “Spotlight”:
BizEd’s “Spotlight” department features one school’s business
program in each issue. To be considered for “Spotlight,” we require
information about the school’s offerings, unique programs, student/faculty
activities, awards, etc., in the form of brochures, Web site information, or
other written descriptions. We also request four to six professional, four-color
images that depict the business school’s facility, school campus, classes,
events, or region. Digital images must be in JPEG or TIFF format, saved at high
resolution (300 dpi or higher) at a size of 3” x 4” or larger.
Spotlight schools are chosen based on the uniqueness of their programs
and the quality of the photos.
Each
submission is read by our editorial staff and
advisory board, and chosen based on its originality, quality, clarity,
persuasiveness, immediate relevance to our readers, and suitability to our
editorial calendar. Editorial decisions will be made within six weeks of
submission. All articles accepted for publication are edited to suit BizEd’s
format. Please
see the editorial calendar for deadlines.
BizEd
editors
also accept press releases and other information to be considered for
publication in its “Headlines” and “Technology” departments. The use of
such items is subject to space constraints and editorial discretion.
We
welcome your input! Please direct submissions or questions to our editors:
