Marketing and Communications Council
Membership and Membership Criteria
The primary membership for the Marketing and Communications Council Affinity Group is administrators in AACSB
International member educational organizations, responsible for public
relations, media liaison, marketing communications, internal communications and
allied activities. The Marketing
and Communications Council Affinity Group will
operate consistent with the Policies and Operating Guidelines of AACSB
International Affinity Groups.
Participation in appropriate Marketing and Communications Council Affinity Group
activities and events designed to provide education and enrichment
for the general membership and open to all AACSB International members.
Please contact one of the Marketing and Communications Council Affinity Group
Steering Committee
members to discuss membership opportunities.
Purpose/Objectives
- To
facilitate networking, communications and relationship-building among PR
professionals in management education and to AACSB International general
membership.
- To
provide a forum for discussion of interests, issues and needs of PR
professionals, within AACSB International and their home institutions.
- To
identify and provide professional and career development opportunities for
current and future PR professionals in management education.
- To
work proactively towards greater recognition and advancement of the key role
of public relations in contributing to the success of AACSB member
institutions.
- Encouraging
members to propose programs and seek leadership positions in AACSB
International and develop opportunities for participation in AACSB
International sponsored programs and governance.
- Provide
support and advice to AACSB International and its own PR professional staff
in raising the profile of the management education industry generally.
Programs
and Activities
Programs and activities to
accomplish the objectives of the PR Professionals in Management Education
Affinity Group include, but are not limited to:
- Sponsoring professional and career development workshops and seminars for
affinity group members, AACSB International members at the AACSB Annual Meeting
and at selected AACSB International conferences throughout the year
- Establishing
and maintaining a database of PR professionals in management education and
of information pertinent to achieving the objectives of the group. (The
listing information will be available to AACSB International members and
used to establish and maintain an affinity group listserv or equivalent).
- Identifying
and assisting with preparation of specialized data, information and reports
on affinity group issues to support the affinity group and AACSB
International goals and objectives
- Sharing
information on professional and career development opportunities for PR
professionals
- Establishing
mechanisms, as appropriate, for mentoring of current and potential PR
professionals in AACSB International
