MBA for Working Professionals (MBAWP) Affinity Group

Membership Criteria

The AACSB International MBA for Working Professionals (MBAWP) Affinity Group serves to facilitate the specialized needs of accredited AACSB International members with working professional MBA program enrollment of significant size (generally, 35% + of total MBA enrollment).

Purpose

  1. Enhance the quality and reputation of MBAWP programs.
  2. Provide a forum that serves the specialized needs of MBAWP programs to communicate with common-interest institutions.
  3. Initiate processes for data accumulation, bench marking, research and other services of common interest.
  4. Improve the effectiveness of MBAWP programs by facilitating networking, support mechanisms, relationship building, information exchange and program enhancement opportunities.
  5. Gain more recognition for MBAWP programs through a better understanding of their contributions and value created.

Strategies To Accomplish Objectives:

The MBAWP Affinity Group will be organized around issues of common interest to MBA programs for working professionals. The following issues represent the initial interest areas for affinity group members.

  1. Program Differentiation: to clarify quality characteristics that differentiate MBA programs for working professionals from programs for full-time students.
  2. Information Needs: to identify special data/information requirements for MBAWP programs.
  3. National Recognition: to address issues for national recognition of MBA programs for working professionals (including published rankings).
  4. Technology Issues: to identify ways in which MBA programs for working professionals can capitalize on the usage of distributed and distance learning technologies.
  5. International Study Abroad: to discuss and identify international study abroad opportunities for students who are working professionals.
