MBA for Working Professionals (MBAWP) Affinity Group

Dear Colleagues,

Lawrence Hamer and I have done a quick analysis of the survey data we collected from many of you at the MBA for Working Professionals affinity group meeting (April 21, 2005). According to the 29 respondents, the characteristics that tell us the most about the quality of a part-time MBA program are:

- The teaching ability of the faculty

- The extent of student-faculty interactions

- The extent to which instruction has a pragmatic focus

- The average salary of recent graduates

- The work experience of enrolled students

The following documents are each one-page:

A report showing the items grouped into four categories (from those that tell us the most about quality to those that tell us the least about quality).

The means and standard deviations of the items listed in the order in which they were presented on the survey.

The means and standard deviations of the items listed in order of decreasing means.

T-tests to determine if each item's mean score is significantly different from the mid-point of the scale.

A description of the respondents.

We here at DePaul University intend to give this same survey to our faculty, students, potential students, and Advisory Board members.

If any of you would like to give this survey to your people, I'd request that you send me your data. We here at DePaul will compile the data, analyze it, and report the results. That will give us all a larger sample size than any of us could get on our own. If you'd like to get involved in such a project, please let me know.
