Affinity
Group Mission and Primary Goals and Objectives: The
mission of DocNet is to facilitate quality improvement and marketing in doctoral
education in business.
Its
primary goals and objectives are to:
§
Facilitate
networking and sharing of best practices among doctoral program administrative
directors and faculty coordinators.
§
Increase
awareness about doctoral education issues among business school leaders.
§
Promote
innovation and quality improvement in business and management doctoral
education.
§
Assist
members in achieving admissions objectives.
To
achieve these goals and objectives, DocNet will:
§
Facilitate
collaboration among members and work with other organizations to promote
doctoral education and academic careers in business.
§
Organize meetings to share best practices and facilitate networking. (Note:
DocNet also may affiliate with other organizations, such as GMAC, and the
requirement to meet at one or more AACSB-sponsored events annually is waived, as
AACSB does not currently sponsor a doctoral programs conference.)
§
Organize,
promote, and implement joint recruitment events, often in conjunction with other
events such as the Ph.D. Project conference and GMAC Industry Conference.
§
Conduct
periodic surveys for benchmarking and study trends.
Membership
Criteria: Any institutional member of AACSB International that offers
doctoral degree programs in business and management may have up to two
representatives
in DocNet. Organizational members are encouraged to have representatives
representing both staff and faculty.
