Technology Leaders Affinity Group

Affinity Group Mission and Primary Goals and Objectives:

Mission: The technology leaders Affinity Group is dedicated to providing a forum for discussion and investigation regarding IT challenges, particularly in regard to curriculum and AACSB accreditation issues, that are faced by AACSB member schools.

Goals and Objectives:

1) To improve the overall quality of our b-schools’ technology efforts.

2) To share best practices knowledge as it relates to AACSB accreditation requirements and guidelines.

3) To foster greater collaboration among peers.

4) To create a level of trust with colleagues outside of your institution that you can work with to improve your technology program.

5) To provide a group focused on the role of IT accreditation.

Membership Criteria:

1) Members will be a technology leader in an AACSB-affiliated business school.

2) Members are expected to contribute time to the Technology Leaders Affinity Group. As action items come up, members will be informed by a general request for their participation in the work efforts. It is expected every member will participate in at least one action during each year of membership. Members from AACSB-accredited institutions may also be called on to mentor their peers at institutions seeking accreditation.

3) Members are required to be in a technology leadership position within their business or management school, or be the central IT leader responsible for their institution's business or management school. (Each school has its own technology support structure; in some cases, there is no distributed IT staff. The affinity group would like to explore the challenges faced by different types of technology organizational structures.)

4) Members will be asked to provide current contact and background information.  This information will be used for official Technology Leader Affinity Group communication only.

5) Confidential information shared within the affinity group will not be shared beyond the individual members. In addition, members will not share information outside of the affinity group without written permission from a member of the Technology Leaders Steering Committee.
