The Baldrige Award Roadmap to Performance Excellence in Education
Dean Calingo will provide participants with an overview of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award program, its purpose and its history.  As an experienced Baldrige examiner and board member for the California Council for Excellence, he also will  provide an introduction to the framework which many educational administrators now are using to drive continuous improvement in their respective programs.

Dean Alexander will then share his program’s experiences in applying the Baldrige framework that led to the Monfort College of Business at the University of Northern Colorado being selected as a 2004 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award recipient.  He also will offer insights on how numerous Baldrige principles run parallel with current AACSB standards and principles.

The Past 20 Years in Management Education:  Reflections by a Co-Author of the AACSB-Sponsored Porter-McKibbin Report
It has been approximately 20 years since the data were collected for the AACSB-sponsored “Porter-McKibbin Report” (published in 1988).  There have been many changes in management education since the mid-1980s, some of which were anticipated in the report and some of which were advocated but not expected to occur. In other areas, very little change may have occurred over these past two decades. The implications of these changes and non-changes will be examined from a perspective of looking ahead for the next 20 years. The session is intended to be an opportunity for speaker and audience members to share their observations

External Relations Strategies
What are the key ingredients necessary to develop a compelling case for successful fundraising? What are some of the proven strategies that create a positive "buzz" about the school? How can you effectively utilize and motivate all members of your team including faculty, development officers, alumni staff, board members, and marketing staff? This discussion will examine all these issues in the context of the ultimate goal—creating the joyful donor.

Managing for Results: Getting the Most from your Advisory Board
The Williams College of Business at Xavier University now has ten advisory boards, with 220 executives serving on these boards. Starting department and program advisory boards was rather controversial, but now that they are in place, our chairs, faculty, and students are very positive about their impact. The purpose of this session is to discuss how to implement advisory boards that make an impact, and at the same time do not get involved in the internal affairs of your college. Please bring a one page description of your board, the duties and responsibilities of the members, and other best practices to share, in this conversation session.

Achieving Initial Business Accreditation — A Small School's Journey
Achieving initial AACSB International accreditation is a journey that requires careful planning and implementation of processes that result in high quality and continuous improvement of the school’s operations. Small schools face unique circumstances as they pursue initial accreditation. This session will focus on discussing the experiences of two small schools that are located in different parts of the world. Through interactive discussion, the session will provide participants with practical and relevant insights about the processes developed by the two schools. Participants will have ample opportunity to engage in dialogue and to ask questions of the panelists.

Plenary III: The Pending Disruption of Management Education
There is mounting evidence that the same sort of disruptive forces that toppled the leaders in industries as diverse as retailing, steel, computers, and database software are well underway in the management education marketplace. Most of today's business schools will be unlikely to have survived 20 years hence. New institutions will have taken their place unless the schools take action now.

Long Live the Dean: Longevity and Survival Secrets for Business Deans
Some deans serve in their positions for decades, others for only a few months. This session will discuss the longevity of business deans at their current institutions and in their careers as a dean. How long do deans stay in office? What factors affect longevity in the position? What are some of the secrets of success for deans who have had long careers at one institution and those who have held multiple deanships? These questions and others raised by panelists and attendees will be addressed in this highly interactive session.
