March 21–22, 2018 | Tempe, Arizona

Teaching is one of the most noble and challenging professions where faculty play a critical role in preparing and equipping students with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in the workplace. In order to do so, faculty must not only be subject matter experts in their discipline but also effective teachers. In this recently updated seminar, attendees at all stages in their teaching careers will explore various frameworks and tools that will enable them to continuously improve their teaching skills and ultimately student learning.

This event was formerly known as the Teaching Effectiveness Seminar.

Learning Outcomes

  • Gain new perspectives on course design that will help you effectively plan and deliver a course that meets the needs of all students.
  • Examine the various learning approaches (i.e. active, collaborative, experiential, etc.) for engaging and motivating today’s diverse group of students and incorporate them in your teaching techniques.
  • Develop efficient methods to assess student learning within the classroom and provide feedback.
  • Analyze the role of technology in the classroom and determine how it can be integrated to enhance teaching and learning.

Who Should Attend

Faculty who want to continually improve course effectiveness, faculty new to the classroom, executives transitioning from the corporate world to the classroom, and recent PhD graduates.
