Brené Brown, PhD, Research Professor University of Houston, and Huffington Brené Brown Endowed Chair at The Graduate College of Social WorkBrene_Brown

Dr. Brené Brown is a research professor at the University of Houston where she holds the Huffington Brené Brown Endowed Chair at The Graduate College of Social Work. She has spent the past fifteen years studying courage, vulnerability, shame, and empathy and is the author of three #1 New York Times bestsellers – The Gifts of Imperfection, Daring Greatly, and Rising Strong. Her TED talk – The Power of Vulnerability – is one of the top five most viewed TED talks in the world with over 25 million views. Brené is the Founder and CEO of both COURAGEworks – an online learning platform that offers classes for individuals and families on braver living and loving, and BRAVE LEADERS INC – a platform that brings her latest research on leadership development and culture change to teams, leaders, entrepreneurs, change makers, and culture shifters. Brené lives in Houston, Texas with her husband, Steve, and their children Ellen and Charlie.

Aylwin B. Lewis, President and Chief Executive Officer, Potbelly Sandwich WorksAylwin_Lewis

Aylwin B. Lewis, 60, has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Potbelly Sandwich Works since 2008. Prior to that, Mr. Lewis was President and Chief Executive Officer of Sears Holdings Corporation, a nationwide retailer, from 2005 to 2008. Prior to being named Chief Executive Officer of Sears, Mr. Lewis was President of Sears Holdings and Chief Executive Officer of Kmart and Sears Retail following Sears’ acquisition of Kmart Holding Corporation in 2005. Prior to that acquisition, Mr. Lewis had been President and Chief Executive Officer of Kmart since 2004. Prior to that, Mr. Lewis held a variety of leadership positions at YUM! Brands, Inc., a franchisor and licensor of quick service restaurants from 2000 until 2004. Mr. Lewis served on the Board of Directors of Sears Holding Corp. from 2005 through 2008, on the Board of Directors of Kmart from 2004 through 2008 and on the Board of Directors of Potbelly Sandwich Works since 2008. Mr. Lewis has been a director of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide since January 1, 2013. Mr. Lewis has been a Director of the Company since 2004.

Margaret Heffernan, Entrepreneur, Chief Executive and AuthorMargaret_Heffernan

Dr. Margaret Heffernan produced programmes for the BBC for 13 years.  She then moved to the US where she spearheaded multimedia productions for Intuit, The Learning Company and Standard&Poors. She was Chief Executive of InfoMation Corporation, ZineZone Corporation and then iCast Corporation, was named one of the “Top 25” by Streaming Media magazine and one of the “Top 100 Media Executives” by The Hollywood Reporter.  The author of five books, Margaret’s third book, Willful Blindness : Why We Ignore the Obvious at our Peril was a finalist for the Financial Times Best Business Book Award 2011, and the book was named one of the most important business books of the last decade. In 2015, she was awarded the Transmission Prize for  A Bigger Prize: Why Competition isn’t Everything and How We Do Better, described as “meticulously researched…engagingly written…universally relevant and hard to fault.” Her TED talks have been seen by over four million people and in 2015 TED published Beyond Measure: The Big Impact of Small Changes. Through Merryck & Co., she advises CEOs and senior executives of major global organizations and is Lead Faculty for the Forward Institute’s Responsible Leadership Programme.
