Foreign Branch Campuses

  • Relevant legal structure: Foreign branch campuses are allowable in Egypt. There have historically been foreign universities that have established campuses in Egypt, as well as Egyptian universities with campuses in other countries.

  • Statistics: The Canadian International College (CIC) was established in 2004, initially as an associate campus of two Canadian universities, Cape Breton University and the University of Ottawa. The German University in Cairo has a branch campus in Berlin for use by its students to study abroad. The Université Senghor d’Alexandrie has branch campuses in numerous countries, including Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Djibouti, Hungary, Morocco, and Senegal.
