Teaching Effectiveness Seminar

Taught by a master teacher, this seminar provides the framework, as well as innovative methods for effective teaching in today's increasingly competitive academic environment. Seminar participants gain the knowledge, skills, and tools needed to balance the call for scholarship with the creation and delivery of highly relevant, student-focused courses. Attendees also will earn an AACSB International certificate of completion indicating excellence as a scholar teacher. 

Who Should Attend:

  • Faculty who want to continually improve course effectiveness, faculty new to the classroom, executives transitioning from the corporate world to the classroom, faculty who want to update their skills in technology, and PhD students

Learning Outcomes:

  • Learn methods for improving instructional effectiveness and assuring overall student achievement, with an emphasis on converting scholarship to learning into practice.
      
  • Use technology and other innovations to improve the way that learning occurs in and out of the classroom.
     
  • Determine ways to actively engage students in the learning process, provide feedback, and encourage collaboration and cooperation.
     
  • Identify possible areas for personal improvement with regard to teaching effectiveness.
     
  • Understand how your personality can affect your teaching effectiveness and evaluations.
