Could you some day become a business school dean?
If the answer is yes - or even if you are unsure - this seminar illuminates the
rewards and challenges of being dean through the experiences of veteran business
school leaders. You will learn the many facets of the dean's life, as well as
what schools look for when they search for a dean. You also will learn how to
match your talents with a specific institution and how to best prepare your
curriculum vita.
Who Should Attend
- Faculty, department chairs, associate and
assistant deans, business professionals, and those who aspire to be dean of the
business school.

Facilitators (may vary at each offering):
- Craig M. McAllister is dean at the Roy E. Crummer Graduate School of Business, Rollins
College in Winter Park, Florida. Prior to joining academe, he worked for
Consolidated Foods, AVX Corporation, and Loral Electronic Systems. His
academic career includes appointments at Alfred State College, Cornell
University, and the University of Central Florida. A frequent visiting faculty
member and guest speaker in university and corporate executive programs, he
received his bachelor's degree from the University of Arizona, a master's from
Alfred University in Massachusetts, and a PhD from Columbia University.
- Lynne D. Richardson is dean of the
College of Business and Industry at Mississippi State University. Previously, she was
dean and
professor of marketing in the Miller College of Business at Ball State
University in Muncie, Indiana and associate dean and professor of marketing
at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She
earned a PhD in marketing in 1989 from the University of Alabama, an MBA in
1983 from University of Alabama at Birmingham, and her bachelor's degree in marketing in 1980 from the
University of Montevallo (Alabama).
