   Agenda

This seminar focuses on the link between the schools mission and its faculty processes considering approaches in establishing criteria for participating and supporting faculty, and AQ/PQ faculty performance. Information from accreditation review team experiences highlight best practices in the management, development, and mentoring of faculty members. Discuss new faculty updates on standards 2, 9, and 10.

Who Should Attend:

  • Deans, associate and assistant deans, department chairs, and faculty members involved in accreditation and faculty review processes.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Develop appropriate criteria to classify faculty members for accreditation purposes.
  • Develop processes to ensure that faculty members who meet a school's criteria will likely meet the expectations of the standards.
  • Learn evaluation systems to accommodate different faculty tracks (i.e., teaching vs. research, clinical, etc.), including considerations of school size and structure and the blend / balance of AQ/PQ faculty.
  • Discuss faculty mentoring, as well as international perspectives on faculty classification.
  • Hear what other schools are doing to satisfy the faculty related standards and gain valuable take-aways to initiate at your institution.

Facilitators:

Frank J. Navratil,  professor of Economics and Finance at the John M. and Mary Jo Boler School of Business at John Carroll University.

Jerry E. Trapnell, executive vice president and chief accreditation officer, AACSB International.
