Trudy W. Banta
Professor of Higher Education
Senior Advisor to the Chancellor, Academic Planning and Evaluation
Indiana University—Purdue University Indianapolis
Recipient of seven national awards for her work, Dr. Banta has consulted
with faculty and administrators on outcomes assessment, given invited
addresses on the topic at national conferences, and developed and
coordinated more than 35 assessment conferences worldwide. Banta is the
founding editor of Assessment Update, an award-winning bimonthly
publication, and her writing and editing on the topic of assessment has
been extensively published. In her plenary session, Dr. Banta shares her
wide-reaching experience with assessment, and how individual and team
engagement in assessment can have positive implications for
institutions.
Gloria M. Rogers
Associate Executive Director, Professional Services
ABET, Inc.
A well-known leader on the forefront of assessment and educational
reform, Gloria Rogers joins this debut conference from ABET, Inc., the
international accreditation agency for educational programs in applied
science, computing, engineering and technology. Her plenary session
addresses the current and emerging landscape of assessment, including
points related to continually improving the assessment process itself.
Rogers has organized 10 national symposia, “Best Assessment Processes,”
that have been attended by more than 2,000 educators from 400
institutions around the world. In addition, she has authored more than
30 assessment-related articles, given more than 70 presentations at
national and international conferences, and facilitated workshops and
seminars at more than 80 institutions. In 2006, she delivered the first
weeklong Institute for the Development of Excellence in Assessment
Leadership (IDEAL) which has now trained 142 leaders in assessment,
change management, and facilitation principles.
